The Synodontis Nigrita Gold is a stunning golden colour variant of the popular African catfish, prized for its vibrant yellow-gold body, contrasting dark markings, and long flowing barbels. Hardy, active, and full of personality, this unique catfish is an excellent choice for larger community aquariums and African cichlid setups.

Primarily active during the evening and at night, Synodontis Nigrita Gold enjoys exploring caves, driftwood, and rocky structures throughout the aquarium. It appreciates plenty of hiding places and will often establish a favourite cave or shelter to retreat to during the day.

This species is peaceful with similarly sized fish but is an opportunistic feeder, so it should not be kept with very small fish or shrimp that may fit into its mouth. Its hardy nature and striking appearance make it a standout addition to any display aquarium.

Feeding

Synodontis Nigrita Gold is an omnivore and will readily accept quality sinking pellets and wafers as a staple diet. Supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, blackworms, and other protein-rich foods to maintain excellent health, colour, and condition.
