Starlight Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp. “White Seam”)
The Starlight Bristlenose Pleco, also known as the White Seam Bristlenose, is a stunning and highly sought-after species from the Ancistrus genus. Native to Brazil’s Rio Negro, this fish is known for its dark body covered in white spots and distinctive white edging along the fins, giving it a striking “starlight” appearance.
In the wild, it inhabits warm, soft, tannin-rich waters, where it spends much of its time grazing on driftwood and biofilm. In the aquarium, it is hardy, adaptable, and an excellent algae grazer, making it both a functional and visually appealing addition to your tank.
