The Silvertip Tetra is an energetic and colourful schooling fish that brings constant movement to a community aquarium. Its warm golden body is complemented by bright silver-white tips on the fins, which become especially striking when the fish are kept in a good-sized group.
Males generally develop stronger copper-gold colouring, while females tend to have a slightly fuller body and more subdued appearance. Their active nature makes them particularly attractive in planted aquariums with plenty of open swimming space.

- Temperament: Peaceful but active

Silvertip Tetras are social fish and should always be kept in a group. Larger schools encourage natural behaviour, produce a more impressive display and help reduce chasing or fin-nipping.
Provide a planted aquarium with open swimming areas, gentle water movement and darker décor to highlight their beautiful colouring. They accept most quality tropical flakes, micro pellets and small frozen or live foods.
They are suitable for community aquariums with similarly sized fish, although their energetic behaviour may overwhelm very slow-moving or long-finned tank mates.
Please note: Fish colouring may be more subdued after transport but will strengthen once they have settled into their new aquarium.
