Schwartzi Cory (Hoplisoma schwartzi)

The Schwartzi Corydoras is a striking and peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish, recognised for its bold black facial markings and intricate spotted pattern across a silver-white body. Native to the Rio Purus basin in Brazil, this active Corydoras is an excellent choice for community aquariums and is well suited to both beginner and experienced fishkeepers.

Schwartzi Corydoras are highly social fish and should always be kept in groups of at least six. They spend their day foraging through the substrate, helping to clean up uneaten food while adding constant movement and personality to the bottom of the aquarium.

A soft sand substrate is highly recommended, allowing them to forage naturally without damaging their sensitive barbels. They appreciate a well-planted aquarium with driftwood, rocks, and shaded areas to explore.

Feeding

Schwartzi Corydoras are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet. Offer a quality sinking pellet or wafer as their staple food, supplemented with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, blackworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp to maintain excellent health and condition.
