Rusty Cichlid (Iodotropheus sprengerae)

Add a splash of warm colour and lively personality to your tank with the Rusty Cichlid. Native to Lake Malawi, this peaceful and hardy Mbuna species displays beautiful rusty-orange to lavender hues that intensify with age. Unlike many other Mbuna, Rusty Cichlids are more tolerant and make a great choice for both beginner and experienced cichlid keepers.

Reaching up to 10cm in adulthood, they thrive in rocky aquascapes with plenty of hiding spots and do best in stable, hard, alkaline water conditions. These active foragers will enjoy a mixed herbivorous diet and do well in community setups with other peaceful to semi-aggressive Malawi species.
