The Orange Venezuelan Corydoras is one of the most striking and colourful Corydoras varieties available. A natural geographic colour variant of the popular Bronze Corydoras, this fish develops a vibrant orange stripe along its back as it matures, beautifully contrasted by metallic blue-green hues along its sides.

Highly sought after by Corydoras enthusiasts, the Orange Venezuelan Cory is not always readily available and is considered a standout addition to any peaceful community aquarium.

Temperament & Compatibility

Orange Venezuelan Corydoras are peaceful, social fish that thrive in groups of six or more. They are excellent tank mates for a wide variety of community fish, including tetras, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and angelfish. While they may occasionally prey on very small shrimp fry, they are generally safe with adult dwarf shrimp and most peaceful invertebrates.

As bottom-dwelling scavengers, they spend most of their time foraging along the substrate. A soft sand or smooth gravel substrate is essential, as coarse gravel can damage their sensitive barbels and underside.

Feeding

Although they are excellent scavengers, they should not be relied upon to survive on leftover food alone. A varied diet consisting of high-quality sinking pellets, wafers, frozen foods, and live foods will help ensure optimal health and vibrant coloration.
