Koi Angel (Pterophyllum scalare)

Koi Angelfish are one of the most striking and elegant varieties of freshwater angelfish, featuring a beautiful mix of white, orange, black, and marbled coloration inspired by traditional koi carp. Their graceful finnage and bold patterns make them a true centerpiece fish in tropical aquariums.

Pterophyllum scalare are peaceful cichlids that do best in tall aquariums with plenty of swimming space, plants, and décor for shelter. While generally calm, adult angelfish can become territorial during breeding and may prey on very small fish.

Koi Angels thrive in warm, stable water conditions and are best kept with other peaceful community fish that are not overly aggressive or fin-nipping. Their unique coloration develops further as they mature, with each fish displaying its own individual patterning.
