Buddha Pods – Natural Aquarium Hideaway
Create a striking natural feature in your aquarium with Buddha Pods (Pterygota alata). These sturdy, bowl-shaped seed pods add beautiful texture to botanical and blackwater aquascapes while providing a natural hideaway for fish, shrimp and other aquarium inhabitants.
Their hollow shape makes them especially suitable for bettas, apistogrammas, small catfish, shrimp and fry. Over time, the surface may develop beneficial biofilm, providing an additional grazing area for shrimp and other small creatures.

Preparation and Use
Rinse and scrub the pod thoroughly before use. Boil it for approximately 20–30 minutes, then allow it to cool completely before adding it to the aquarium. It may float initially but should sink once fully waterlogged.
Position the opening where fish can enter and exit safely. Check the pod occasionally for sharp edges or excessive deterioration, and remove or replace it when required.
Please note: This is a natural product, so size, colour, shape and opening will vary between pods. Not intended for human consumption.
