Albino Red Oscars grow to a substantial but manageable size and are recognised for their intelligence and strong interaction with their owners, often responding to movement outside the tank and “begging” for food at the glass. As natural diggers and tank rearrangers, they may uproot plants and move decorations, making artificial plants and heavy décor the best option.

While generally less aggressive than many large cichlids, Albino Red Oscars are powerful predators and will eat any fish or invertebrate small enough to fit in their mouth. Territorial behaviour becomes more noticeable during breeding, so bonded pairs are best kept in species-only setups.
