Assorted Guppies are one of the most popular and colourful freshwater fish in the aquarium hobby. These active livebearers are best known for their vibrant colours, flowing tails, and peaceful nature, making them an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced fishkeepers alike.

Guppies typically occupy the upper levels of the aquarium, although they will often swim and feed throughout all areas of the tank. They are active fish and can jump, so a secure lid or lowered water level is recommended.

These fish are completely plant-safe and do well in peaceful community aquariums alongside other non-aggressive species. Avoid housing them with fin-nipping fish, as their long flowing tails can become targets. Adult dwarf shrimp are generally safe tankmates, although guppies may eat shrimp fry. Larger peaceful invertebrates also make excellent companions.

Guppies are social fish and are best kept in small groups where they will display their best colours and natural behaviour.

While easy to care for, Assorted Guppies thrive on a varied omnivorous diet. High-quality flakes, pellets, and frozen or freeze-dried foods such as bloodworms and tubifex will help maintain vibrant colours and overall health.
